Terry grew up in Indiana where his family had a home on Sugar Creek – he was often found playing in the creek on John Boats and Canoes. He discovered the fun of whitewater rafting on the Gauley River and was hooked – Terry came to NOC’s guide school and started guiding at the age of 51. Terry has been with NOC for 12 years now, seeking out a position because of the reputation of being safety oriented and staying for the excellent training.
When Terry isn’t guiding on the Nantahala River, you can catch him riding his motorcycle or playing his guitar and learning new songs to sing every chance he gets. He enjoys spending the winter months at Big Bend, guiding river expeditions on the Rio Grande and guiding ATV tours.
