Women’s Courses and Events

Nantahala Outdoor Center wants to honor the strong, capable women that helped shape our lives and this company. Below is a list of some of our women-only events. From world-class instruction to relaxing time by the river, we plan on offering more of these events in the future.


NOC Women's Wilderness Weekend

This all-women’s weekend will include a day of Wilderness Survival Skills and two days of Wilderness First Aid and CPR in addition to some fireside time on Friday night.

Women's Pedal Fest

Join us for a celebration of women in mountain biking! Expect lots of excursions, pro guest instructors and clinics, even lodging and meal packages.

NOC Women's Kayak Retreat

Sign up to kayak with a supportive group of ladies under the guidance of NOC rockstar instructor Anne Sontheimer! The Women’s Kayak Retreat is open to female kayakers of all skill levels. Lodging on Friday and Saturday, breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Saturday and a meet and greet with Anne on Friday night are all included. Plus, enjoy a one-hour yoga session to stretch out your limbs during a fun weekend of paddling!

Join us for the 4th Annual Not Your Average Ladies Night at the Outfitter’s Store! Spend time in the company of women from all walks of the outdoor industry as we enjoy food, drinks, conversation and more. Get to know women in your community as we enjoy a relaxed evening celebrating women!

Women's Paddlefest with NOC

2023 Paddle Fest dates coming soon!

The Ladies Southeast Paddling Series has moved to Nantahala Outdoor Center for a three-day paddle festival, hosted by inspirational paddler Anna Levesque! This festival is all about fostering community by connecting, sharing, paddling, and supporting each other on the river. Trips will be offered on the Tuckaseegee River (Class I-II), the Nantahala River (Class II-III), and the Ocoee River (Class II-IV) representing a range of skill levels, and is open to all women in all watercraft!
