The Hemlocks Mountainside Bungalows

The Hemlocks by NOC are newly constructed mountainside bungalows overlooking the Nantahala Gorge.
Situated on Nantahala Outdoor Center’s adventure resort, the Hemlocks are within walking distance of the Nantahala River, Appalachian Trail, Fontana Lake, and adventure activities like rafting, ziplining, and mountain biking. Enjoy the peace and privacy of a quiet mountain setting while staying close to outdoor adventures and on-site dining and shopping.
Inside, each bungalow pairs modern comfort with thoughtful amenities, including a king bedroom, kitchenette, washer and dryer, dishwasher, cozy sitting area with a modern fireplace, and flat-screen TVs in both the living area and bedrooms. Step outside onto a spacious private deck to relax, take in mountain views, and enjoy the surrounding forest.
Whether you’re winding down after adventure activities or settling in for a quiet mountain getaway, The Hemlocks offer a comfortable home base for experiencing the best of Western North Carolina.
The Hemlocks come in two configurations:
- Single King Bedroom + Full Bathroom
- Two King Bedrooms + 2 Bathrooms
There are two ADA Units on the upper ridge level with access to the main parking area.

Pets: Dogs are permitted in select units for an additional fee of $30/night (Max 2 dogs, 80lbs or less). Hemlocks #1 and #2 are designated as no-pet units to ensure the comfort of all guests, including those with allergies and sensitivities. Guests traveling with service animals are welcome, and we are happy to assist in finding units that meet their specific needs. Please note that emotional support animals are not considered service animals under ADA guidelines.
