Christie Cochran
Christie became acquainted with Nantahala Outdoor Center after years of enjoying weekend canoe trips, kayak clinics, and whitewater activities during middle and high school. “Mama Christie” is currently a NOC Trip Leader, and in her 23-year tenure has been a Trip Leader on the Chattooga, Assistant Manager of NOC Ocoee, Manager of NOC Cheoah, a Kayak Instructor, and holders Wilderness First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue Certifications.
One of Christie’s proudest accomplishments is to be raising two adventurous children that enjoy human-powered sports and have a deep respect for nature and the environment. She doesn’t stop at going above and beyond on the water, Christie is also an accomplished runner having recently completed a 100-mile Ultramarathon!
