Overview
Float, spin or just kick back as you shoot the ‘Hooch in the Georgia sunshine with Nantahala Outdoor Center. NOC offers tube rentals for families and groups to enjoy a relaxing float trip from Johnson Ferry to Powers Island or the Class I-II whitewater trip from Powers Island to Paces Mill. Explore the Chattahoochee River’s colorful granite outcroppings (how the river got its name), wooded banks, and cool, gentle current.
Because NOC is the National Park’s only on-site outfitter all trips begin and end at NOC’s outposts inside the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

What to Expect
NOC Metro Tubing trips take approximately 3-5 hours, with 2-4 hours on the river. The remaining time will be spent in trip preparation and shuttle from the take-out at Paces Mill or Power’s Island.
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your reservation at NOC’s Metro Outpost to allow time for parking and check in. NOC guides will help guests get fitted for gear and head out on the shuttle (if applicable) to the put-in depending on the trip chosen.

Before You Visit
Participants must be 8+ years of age. All minors (17 and under) must be accompanied by a participating adult during the activity. The maximum weight for this craft is 250lbs.
Participants must be capable of walking on flat mixed surfaces for 200 yards to and from the river access. Participants must be willing and able to carry equipment, kayak, paddles, and any personal equipment to river access points. Guides are available to help move equipment for those that require assistance. If participant wishes to explore surrounding river area, walking on rocky, wet, slippery, or varied surfaces will be required. Please wear a personal flotation device at all times while on the water.
Participants must meet age, weight, and chest size minimums and maximums specific to this trip. Please read our General Participant Eligibility & Recommendations for more information.
Tube rentals include a tube for 1 person, a shuttle ride, and a personal flotation device (PFD).
Guests should wear shoes that stay securely on your feet, quick-dry clothing, swimsuit, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
The NOC Outpost store offers t-shirts, snacks, sunblock, and other river essentials.
