From Asheville, NC Take I-40 West towards Knoxville, TN. Take exit 27 onto US 74 West towards Waynesville. Stay on 74 West, the outpost is 50 miles down this road. 8 miles past Bryson City, the 4-lane will split into two, 2-lane roads. Stay on 74, the left lane. You will enter the Nantahala Gorge and after 4.3 miles you see the Nantahala River and NOC's Nantahala Outpost.
From Gatlinburg, TN Take 441 South through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and through Cherokee. Just past Cherokee, get on 74 West. After 15 miles, the road will split into two, 2-lane roads. Stay on 74 W, the left lane, and continue the 4.3 miles to the NOC Nantahala Outpost.
From East Atlanta Take I-85 North to I-985 North. At Gainesville, take 365 North to 441 North. Just past Dillsboro, NC, 441 merges with US 74. 8 miles past Bryson City, the 4-lane splits into two, 2-lane roads. Stay on 74, the left lane. Continue 4.3 miles and arrive at the NOC Nantahala Outpost.
From West Atlanta Take I-75 North to I-575 North. I-575 becomes State Hwy 5, and then Hwy 76. Stay on this road until Blue Ridge, GA where you turn left onto Hwy 60 towards Mineral Bluff, GA. In Mineral Bluff, turn right onto Hwy 60 Spur. Follow it into North Carolina to US 74 East, turning right towards Murphy and Andrews when the road ends. Stay on 74 East, NOC's Nantahala Outpost is 20 miles past Andrews. You will follow the Nantahala River for the last 8 miles.
From Chattanooga, TN Take I-75 North towards Cleveland, TN. Take the 1st Cleveland exit, the US 64 Bypass Exit. Go 6 miles and take the Ocoee Exit onto US 64 East towards Murphy, NC. In Murphy the road number changes to US 74. Stay on 74 East, NOC's Nantahala Outpost is 20 miles past Andrews. You will follow the Nantahala River for the last 8 miles.

From Highlands, NC Take Hwy 106 West (towards Dillard, GA) to US 441, about 14 miles. Turn left onto US 441 South towards Clayton, GA, approximately seven miles. Then follow directions from Clayton, GA below.
From Clayton, GA Turn onto US 76 EAST at the Walgreen's Pharmacy (across the street from McDonald's). After eight miles you will cross the Chattooga River, into South Carolina. Continue 2.1 miles and turn left onto Chattooga Ridge Road. NOC's Chattooga meeting place is 2.6 miles on the right.
From Westminster, SC Take US 76 West towards Clayton, GA. Go 15.7 miles and turn right onto Chattooga Ridge Road, at the sign for Oconee State Park. If you cross the SC/GA state line, you missed your turn. NOC's Chattooga meeting place is on the right, 2.6 miles after the turn.

From Asheville, NC From I-240 take Exit 4A onto US 19/23 North. Drive nine miles, then take exit 19A onto Hwy 25/70 toward Marshall, NC. After 8.5 miles, the road changes from four lanes to two. Continue another 6.5 miles and you will see the NOC buildings on the left. The parking lot entrance is at the top of the hill. Please note: Hwy 25/70 is a scenic byway and signage is limited. If you pass the red Walnut VFD building, you've gone too far.
From Johnson City Take I-26 East from Johnson City, TN. At Mars Hill, NC, take exit 11 onto Hwy 213. Follow Hwy 213 for approximately eight miles until you reach the junction with Hwy 25/70. Turn right onto 25/70 towards Hot Springs, NC. AB Tech College will be on your right. After about five miles, NOC will be on your left. The parking lot entrance is at the top of the hill. Please note: Hwy 25/70 is a scenic byway and signage is limited. If you pass the red Walnut VFD building, you've gone too far.
From Knoxville, TN Take Hwy 25/70 South from Newport, TN through Hot Springs, NC. Our meeting place is on Hwy 25/70, approximately 11 miles past Hot Springs. The parking lot entrance is on the right, 0.9 miles past the Walnut, NC turn-off sign. Watch closely! The entrance can be difficult to see traveling from the west.

If you cross over the river, you have gone too far.

Take exit 67 for Bryson City. Turn left onto Veterans Blvd. At the first traffic light turn right onto Main Street. Take a left onto Everett Street at the next traffic light. Turn left onto Mitchell Street. Parking for Great Smoky Mountains Railroad will be on your right.
From Chattanooga, TN Take I-75 N towards Cleveland. Take the first Cleveland exit (exit 20) onto Us 64 Bypass E. Continue 6 miles then take the Ocoee/Murphy exit US 64. Cross into North Carolina. In Murphy the road number changes to US 74. Drive through the Nantahala Gorge, passing the Nantahala River as well as the NOC Nantahala Outpost. Continue, you will meet at the Depot in Bryson City, not at the river. Take exit 67 for Bryson City. Turn left onto Veterans Blvd. At the first traffic light turn right onto Main Street. Take a left onto Everett Street at the next traffic light. Turn left onto Mitchell Street. Parking for Great Smoky Mountains Railroad will be on your right.
