What to Wear for Your NOC Adventure!

You’ve planned, you’ve booked, and you’ve rallied the family – but what do you pack? Of course, this depends on which type of adventure you’ve selected. Here are some basic guidelines for both our Whitewater Rafting and Aerial Adventures at Nantahala Outdoor Center.

Whitewater Rafting Checklist

What you should bring:

• Synthetic clothing for quicker drying
• Water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet and that has a strap for your heel. No flip-flops, Crocs, or slip-on sandals. No “turbo” Crocs don’t count! 😄
• Towel & dry change of clothes

Optional items (available for purchase at NOC)

• Swimsuit
• Sunglasses
• Reusable water bottle
• Sunscreen & lip balm
• Hat or visor

What NOC Provides

• Raft (and NOC Guide if a Fully-Guided trip is booked)
• Paddles
• Helmets
• PFD (Personal Flotation Device)
• Dry box for car keys (not cell phones)
• Splash gear

Additionally, NOC has some wet suits available if the weather is chilly. You may bring cameras, cell phones, and water bottles in the raft, but it is at your discretion – electronics should be placed in waterproof casing if you choose to bring them. NOC is not responsible for items lost during activities.

Mountaintop Zip Line and Zip Line Adventure Park Checklist

What you should bring

• Shoes with a closed toe (such as sneakers). No sandals or Crocs
• Comfortable clothing

Optional items (Available for purchase at NOC)

• Sunscreen & lip balm
• Sunglasses & strap
• Reusable water bottle and carabiner-style clip

What NOC Provides

• Harness for Mountaintop Zip Line and Zip Line Adventure Park
• Gloves for Mountaintop Zip Line and Zip Line Adventure Park
• Helmet for Mountaintop Zip Line and Zip Line Adventure Park

Additionally, you may choose to bring a camera/cell phone or a light snack such as a granola bar. NOC will not be responsible for items lost while ziplining – you should have a method to secure extra items to yourself.
