This half-day guided whitewater rafting adventure satisfies both beginner and experienced whitewater paddlers. Offering splashy Class I-II rapids along the popular Nantahala River and a Class III grand finale at Nantahala Falls, this trip is easily the most popular adventure at Nantahala Outdoor Center.
So, who can participate? This trip is fun for kids ages 7 and up (or, kids that weigh at least 60 pounds). Expect to learn fun facts about the Nantahala River and enjoy a few punny jokes from your guide!
Have younger children? This relaxing, scenic float trip with gorgeous views of the Great Smoky Mountains offers plenty of swimming holes and opportunities to create your own splashes! Water toys are available and our knowledgeable and highly-trained guides will make sure the trip is fun for the whole family. Kids ages 3 and up love this Lower Pigeon River trip!
Interested in testing out some aerial adventures? NOC’s Zip Line Adventure Park is a multi-level high ropes course with a dual zip line entry, giving you the chance to challenge friends and family on 16 different obstacles. The weight limit is 60-250 pounds, making it fun for all ages!
Treetop Adventure Nets is the first of it’s kind fully-netted aerial playground. Kids ages 3 and up can captain this netted “ship” from the Captain’s Wheel, climb to different levels and slide down slides as they explore the trees from a different perspective. There is even a crow’s nest where they will enjoy overlooking the 2013 ICF Canoe Freestyle World’s Wave with kayakers playing below.
This is a full-day course that’s perfect for anyone interested in learning the basics of whitewater kayaking! Spend time learning basic strokes, boat control, and safety maneuvering before heading to a skill-appropriate section of river to put your new skills to work. This course is a blast for anyone ages 8 and up with a participating adult!
