Atlanta, GA — Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) will be opening a new location in Roswell, Georgia in Spring 2020, bringing a new approach to community-based outdoor activities, rentals, and education along the Chattahoochee River. The concession, awarded by the City of Roswell Parks & Recreation Department and approved by Roswell City Council on January 13th, 2020, will be located at Azalea Park and Don White Memorial Park along the Chattahoochee River corridor.

When Team U.S.A. marches into the Olympic stadium this summer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games, Michal Smolen will become NOC’s 23rd Olympian in the sport of Whitewater Canoe Slalom.

Nantahala Outdoor Center is all set for an unforgettable 2016. From ultimate river families establishing annual rafting traditions to Olympic hopefuls preparing for Rio this summer, there’s a story to tell around every bend.

Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) will host the 2015 International Canoe Federation’s Junior and U23 Wildwater Canoeing World Championships, August 2-7 on the Nantahala River. The event will be the premier competitive paddling event in the United States this summer, featuring 140 athletes ranging in age from 15 to 23 years old. NOC welcomes summer with a full selection of events for families, vacationers and whitewater paddlers. There’s something for guests of all ages and skill levels to enjoy during the months of June, July, August and September along the banks of the river. Multi-day adventures are available for visitors interested in rafting or zip linging by day and relaxing by night in one of NOC’s newly renovated cabins.

Head to NOC for a weekend of family adventure or for the opportunity to compete in the exciting sport of whitewater paddling. There’s something for guests of all ages and skill levels to enjoy this spring at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. The event line-up features all activities occurring April through May 2015.

Registration is now open through April 10 for the Southwest’s most grueling team race: The Smoky Mountain Overnight Relay to be held April 17-18, 2015. This year marks the relay’s sixth season and the fifth time NOC has co-hosted the run. Start training today!
